Solidarity Rally at Boeing Portland

Today we got to find out who has our back. The Oregon AFL-CIO has our back. The firefighters have our back. Local politicians have our back. Many other unions have our back. And the IAM International has our back! We held a rally at our Sandy Boulevard picket line today and invited the Press and labor leaders all throughout Oregon to come and show their support for our strike. And WOW did they show up. We heard from Graham Trainer, President OR AFL-CIO. Dacia Grayber, firefighter and St Rep. Union leaders from UFCW. Western Territory’s Chief of Staff Bobby Martinez, GVP Jody Bennett, and our very own IAM IP Brian Bryant.  

They spoke about how our fight is their fight and they stand with us hand in hand to fight against corporate greed. This contract is specifically about workers at Boeing but it's going to have a major impact on workers all across our state and our country.

Thank you to everyone who participated and help put this event on. Specific thanks to your bargaining committee who took it on themselves to set up this rally. We are working hard every day to represent our members. Be that at the picket line, be that at the grill making hot dogs, be that at the company fighting for grievances, or be that at the negotiating table.

Our members are our power. And I know that we all have each other's backs in this fight. Stay strong. Stay together.
