IAM/Boeing Contract 2024 Negotiations Update - August 29, 2024



When we are waiting on proposals from the company, your Union committee works tirelessly on the unresolved issues. Today, our focus was on LOU 2, which pertains to Facilities Maintenance Subcontracting. Our Members who perform maintenance have watched their jobs turned over to contractors for years. Our goal is to grow our Facilities Maintenance crafts and maintain the jobs for the life of the agreement. Negotiating this LOU is about fortifying our language to ensure we maintain and expand our workforce. 

 

Additionally, we had some frank discussions with the company regarding wages. We remain far apart, but we are committed to closing the gap.

 

In addition, we are including a flyer in tonight's message on Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs). The old saying applies here: "If you see something, say something." Management has no right to intimidate, threaten, or interrogate Members about their thoughts on the contract. In fact, they don't even have the right to ask you about the contract. If you experience any such behavior, you should immediately contact your Union Steward or Business Representative and email the Union at willl@iamw24.org with all the details.

 

Our strength lies in our unity and determination. Together, we will ensure our voices are heard, and our rights are protected. We are committed to securing a future where our jobs are safeguarded, and our workforce continues to grow.
