Voting Information for Wednesday, October 23, 2024
VOTE LOCATION: 2379 NE 178th Ave, Portland, OR 97230
Please carpool if possible.
On Street Parking is Available. Picket Shuttles will be available from IBEW Local 125 to bring members to SMART Local 16 to vote. There will be no parking available at SMART Local 16.
Shuttle Location: 17200 NE Sacramento St, Portland, OR 97230
Voting will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (UPDATED TIME)
Anyone in line by 5:00 P.M. will be allowed to vote.
After the voting ends, the count will occur at the voting location.
Once verified, the results will be announced on our website, through text blast, email blast and in the media.
There will be one ballot to either ACCEPT or REJECT the bargaining agreement.
No strike vote is needed since we are already on strike.
A simple majority (50% + 1) of those voting will determine the outcome.
There is no remote voting for any member.
If the vote passes, the return to work dates will be as follows:
You CAN return to work as early as first shift on Friday, October 25, 2024, for those members who want to return as quickly as possible.
You MUST return to work by the beginning of your shift on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

I had vacation scheduled before strike October 24th through November 5th, I will be out of town, will,I be required to return to work, or is vacation good until I return???
