Tomorrow, your Union Negotiating Committee and Boeing will resume mediated talks with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS). This is another vital opportunity for your Union to address the issues that matter most to our members. As always, the IAM 751 and IAM District W24 doesn't bargain through the press - the only way to get our members back to work is through meaningful negotiations.
Our strike represents more than just the fight of 751 and W24 Members. It's about our families and our communities as well. We've been working for ten years, establishing our leverage, building solidarity on the shop floor, and standing strong to fight for a better tomorrow. The company now has the chance to propose an agreement worthy of the workforce that powers its success.
Stay resolute - don't let anyone shake the bravery and unity you've shown the world.
One Day Longer, One Day Stronger - that's what it takes.
In Unity, Your Union Negotiating Committee
Many union members have signaled a desire for there to be established a member oversight committee to improve transparency and member engagement throughout this process. The idea being; to avoid calling a contract vote that would split the membership, destroy solidarity, and result in a contract that doesn't serve all of the members equally. To date, letters to this effect have gone unanswered by Mr Bryant and Mr Holden. The appearance being, that our union leadership spurns the idea of any kind of oversight, or member engagement. We respectfully request that union leadership respond to our request.
